Research

In the summer after their first year, AnchorSTEM Scholars have the unique opportunity to conduct research, gaining early exposure to research labs and other scientific opportunities that many students don't experience. This access helps them build valuable skills, broaden their academic horizons, and set a strong foundation for their future in science.

PURE Undergraduate Research

The Pre-Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE) is an eight-week summer research program designed to give first-year and transfer students the opportunity to get involved in a research project the summer before their first term at USD.

PURE exposes scholars to real-world experiences in science, technology, engineering, math, or medicine (STEM/M) through their interactions with a faculty mentor and participation in academic and professional development workshops. Scholars connect with fellow students who are also interested in STEM/M research while becoming familiar with the USD campus before the fall semester.
