I understand much more deeply how valuable relationships and connections to community are. I have learned a great amount about myself and how much I can achieve if I am truly passionate about it. It takes a village and AnchorSTEM, both scholars and team have been an essential part of that village.

Being part of AnchorSTEM has motivated me to work harder...knowing that I don't share the same background as many of my peers. As a refugee, with English as my second language, pursuing a STEM major can be intimidating, but I refuse to let that hold me back. I want to pave the way for the younger generation...showing them that they can achieve their dreams and goals.

Being an AnchorSTEM Scholar motivated me to continue pursuing a career in STEM, especially in the engineering field, since it allowed me to see that there are so many women, especially women of color, in those fields, and it motivated me even more.
